Wrestling made a notable appearance at the 13th African Games, with three talented athletes representing Sierra Leone: two male contenders and one female participant, each competing in different weight categories. The athletes included Sulaiman Kargbo (65kg Men’s Freestyle), Alie Sesay (86kg Men’s Freestyle), and Massah Jalloh (76kg Women’s Freestyle).
Sulaiman Kargbo impressed in the 65kg Men’s Freestyle division, showcasing his remarkable prowess by advancing to the Bronze medal round after defeating Ghana in the Repechage. Although his journey was halted in a narrow loss to Tunisia in the Bronze medal contest, Kargbo's performance firmly established him as one of Sierra Leone’s standout competitors in the tournament.
